Meet Lizz Mears:
Lizz Mears is a UK-based parent coach, art therapist, and mental-health advocate who helps parents of neurodivergent children and young adults reclaim calm, community, and courage. Through her work with the Neurodivergent Parenting Revolution (free community) and The Wild Portal (monthly circle), Lizz blends practical advocacy with ritual, reflection, and radical compassion—so families can thrive on their own terms.

Lizz grew up navigating OCD, depression, and bipolar disorder—years that shaped her fierce empathy and refusal to shame struggle. As a mum of two autistic/ND young people, she fought for support inside a system that often prioritises attendance over wellbeing. When school stopped being safe, her family chose a different path, including home education. That decision—and everything it asked of them—fuels her mission: the system is broken, not our kids.
What Lizz Is Known For
Calm, straight-talk guidance that meets parents where they are—burnout, EHCP wars, EBSA, all of it.
Rituals over rigid rules—using circle work, seasonal pauses, and simple soul practices to soothe overwhelmed nervous systems.
Story-first community building—spaces where parents are seen, held, and reminded they’re not alone.
The Wild Portal: A Monthly Circle for Soul-Led Parents
Part circle, part sanctuary, The Wild Portal brings parents together around new moons or seasonal shifts for an hour of exhale: gentle ritual, story-sharing, and practical reset prompts you can actually use the next day. It’s inclusive and low-pressure—come as you are, leave with your shoulders down and your centre back online.
You’ll love it if you want: fewer shoulds, more nervous-system sense; community that gets ND family life; and a rhythm that supports you through busy, messy seasons.
Neurodivergent Parenting Revolution (Free Group)
Lizz also hosts Neurodivergent Parenting Revolution, a free community offering real talk, resources, and solidarity. Expect advocacy tips, language that de-shames struggle, and reminders that attendance ≠ worth and connection builds courage.
How Lizz Works
Honest. Practical. Soulful.
Lizz pairs clear, doable steps (scripts, reframes, planning pages) with gentle ritual (breath, intention, reflection). Her sessions, posts, and circles are designed for low energy, low bandwidth days—because that’s when support matters most.
Media & Teaching
Lizz speaks and writes on EBSA/school anxiety, inclusive education, trauma-aware parenting, and soul-led self-care for carers. Her work appears across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and community workshops—always with a UK lens and a permission-giving tone.
A Note From Lizz
“I’ve lived the chaos and the beauty. I know the weight you carry and the hope you refuse to put down. You don’t need to be ‘more consistent’ or ‘less sensitive’ to be a brilliant parent. You need a place to land, be witnessed, and remember who you are. That’s why I built these spaces.”
